How do I make an icing or glaze?I made a pound cake and I want to make an icing or glaze, but all the recipes call for powdered sugar. All I have is regular granulated sugar. Is there a way for me to do it? Best Answer on Yahoo! Answers
Yes, you can make a delicious easy glaze for your cakes of all kinds with granulated sugar here is the master recipe... 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup water, 2 Tablespoons butter combine and cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved cool slightly then pour gently over your cake you can add any flavoring you like I have also made this with the juice of 2 oranges( in place of the water) 1 Tablespoons orange rind and 1 cup sugar wonderful on spice, pumpkin or carrot cakes How did you learn to Cook?Do you remember the first meal you made?
