Fondant Recipe


Looking for an easy fondant recipe?

This is the easiest, best tasting recipe, no more sticky marshmallow fondant mess. This cake fondant is perfect to use for small decorations as well as to roll out on the entire cake.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup soft butter
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
16 oz sifted powdered sugar

Directions:

Mix butter, syrup, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
Add powdered sugar and mix on low, gradually increasing the speed to medium, until the mixture forms a ball.
Wrap tightly with plastic wrap or place in sandwich bags and store in an air-tight container until use.
Use cornstarch rather than flour when rolling the fondant to place over a cake.
Lighter rolling pins are better than heavy ones, which make it more difficult to roll out evenly.

Notes:

Use regular food coloring, just use a few drops of the desired color and kneed until fondant is well blended.
You can use a pastry cutter or cookie cutter to shape the fondant.
Using a lighter rolling pin is better than heavy ones, makes it easier to roll.
Keep in refrigerator for weeks.
Although fondant may seem soft at the beginning, it will harden with time, but not so much as to ruin the texture or taste.
