Easy Christmas Soup Recipe

Yield : 20 cups
Ingredients:
3 quarts water
1 (16 oz.) Pkg. Dry split peas
1 (27 oz.) Can sauerkraut
1 medium size head cabbage, chopped fine
1 stick margarine
1 medium onion, sliced thin
1 cup fresh mushrooms
Method :
Bring the water, peas, sauerkraut and cabbage to a boil in large pot.
Simmer about 2 and a half hours.
Saute onions in margarine until tender.
Add mushrooms and cook a few minutes.
Add mushroom mixture to soup and cook short time.
